Third Annual T Tauri Film Festival
A Youth Media Extravaganza!
Welcome to the third
annual T Tauri Film Festival. This year’s festival entries leave
no doubt that young filmmakers are getting better and better. We
will be screening an outstanding group of thirty Official
Selections, as well as all of the T Tauri Young Filmmakers
Competition Award winners. The films come from all over the
country. Most originate from established youth media programs or
high schools with filmmaking programs; some come from the “kid
with a camera,” self-taught and self-motivated. They all reveal
enormous talent, passion, and commitment.
This year’s films also
demonstrate the incredible range in youth media, from
documentaries examining our society’s most pressing issues to
exuberant music videos and whimsical experimental works. Once
you’ve seen a few of this year’s films you’ll know why we chose “T
Tauri,” the astronomer’s term for a star at the dawn of its birth,
as our name. Thanks for visiting our site and supporting our
effort to bring the very best youth-produced media to the Ozark
foothills.
All
screenings take place in the main auditorium in Independence Hall
at the University of Arkansas Community College-Batesville (2005
White Drive); the New Platforms for Youth Media Educators and Parents Symposium takes place in
Room 103 in Independence Hall
