Script to Screen Basics is a 3 1/2-day workshop open to students in grades 7 through 12. The workshop covers the basics of narrative filmmaking including screenwriting and storyboarding, production planning, acting, shooting, sound recording, and editing. You'll complete a short film that will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 26, 2008. No prior filmmaking experience required. Script to Screen Advanced is a 3 1/2-day workshop open to students in grades 7 through 12 who have previously participated in the T Tauri Digital Video Basics or Community Documentary Filmmaking workshops or have other comparable training or experience. The workshop provides the opportunity for young filmmakers to take their skills to the next level by working with others who have significant past experience or training. You'll complete a short film that will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 26, 2008. Camcorder FUNdamentals is a 4-day workshop (1/2 day sessions) open to students in grades 3 through 6. This beginning videography workshop focuses on the operation of the camcorder, the core building block of the digital film. You'll learn to use the video camera as a tool for seeing yourself and your world in new and different ways and to share your vision with others through the footage you shoot. Community Documentary Filmmaking is a 5-day workshop open to students in grades 9 through 12. The workshop gives you the tools and skills you'll need to tell a personal, real-life story about some aspect of your state or community. Your documentary team will select a subject for the film involving local history or the natural environment. The resulting short film will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 26, 2008. Acting on Camera is a 2-day workshop open to students in grades 4 through 12. Special emphasis is placed on communication, give and take situations, and working with a scene partner in this workshop about specialized techniques of acting for film and television. You'll get "camera comfortable" for auditions through exercises designed to build your confidence and tap into your creativity. The Digital Flipbook is a 2-day animation workshop open to students in grades 5 through 12. A lively group experience, The Digital Flipbook reduces the time-intensive animation process to its essentials. From fun, inventive transition exercises to the final sequences, you'll learn a variety of animation techniques to bring your ideas and drawings to life. Your animation team will create a message-driven group project that will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 26, 2008.
