Acting on
Camera
Take Your Acting Skills to
the Next Level

Acting and performance
are central to any successful movie. This workshop focuses on
approaches that relate to acting for film and
video. You'll learn warm-up techniques, basic improv, and
acting principles. Through reading and performing scenes from
existing scripts, you'll also learn how to interact with your
fellow actors while always maintaining your own personal
relationship to the camera.
Students' monologues
and scene work will be captured on video for group analysis. The
workshop will conclude with the filming of a scene or scenes
demonstrating the techniques you learn in the workshop. You'll
also receive a DVD of your monologue and scene work, which can
serve as an audition reel for future acting opportunities.
What you'll learn:
-
Camera awareness.
-
On-set etiquette and
terminology.
-
Utilizing memory,
focus, and inner life to enliven and inform your performance.
-

Scene staging and
choreography.
