Acting on Camera

Acting is one thing--acting on camera is a whole
different animal!
Whether you've acted in plays and skits or have
never had the confidence to give acting a try, this workshop can
be your introduction to the unique challenges (and big time excitement) of acting for the camera.
The course material covers the
difference between close-ups, over-the-shoulder, medium and long
shots, along with techniques for hitting marks, continuity, and
staying in frame.
Two instructors and a crew member will aid you
in getting the best possible performance for your on-air acting
debut. You will receive monologues and scripts to memorize a few
weeks before the workshop, so you can
get the most from this two-day intensive acting workshop. A group
scene shot in the workshop will be shown at the T Tauri Film
Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 26, 2008.
Program highlights:
-
A
monologue and film scene workshop that teaches young actors how to
read a script, take direction, and act in front of a camera.
You'll receive your scripts in advance so you can hit the ground
running on the first day.
-
Coaching
on audition techniques and audition etiquette.
-
A DVD of
a movie scene filmed during the workshop.
The
registration deadline for the Acting on Camera Workshop
is June 30, 2008.
