Claymation
THIS
WORKSHOP HAS REACHED CAPACITY
Build It, Shoot It, Roll
It!

Using wire armature,
clay, and fabric, Claymation students will learn how to create
characters and bring them to life using stop motion animation. Working in
teams, you'll brainstorm an idea, create a storyboard and
script, sculpt clay puppets, and build scenery. Then you'll
position your creations, shoot a picture, re-position and shoot,
re-position and shoot, re-position and shoot, well, you get the
idea.
When your still photos
are strung together using editing software, your animated film
comes alive!
What you'll learn:
-
How to work with your
team members to come up with an idea, story line, and shot list
for your movie.
-
How to sculpt a
simple, clay figure that will lend itself to repeated bending
and re-positioning.
-
How to set-up your
clay creations and the scenery that surrounds them to produce an
understandable and believable landscape.
-
How to take still
photographs of your scenes.
-
How to use dialogue
and music to help tell your story.
-
How to edit together
all the building blocks--still photos, narration, music,
titles--to produce an awesome animated film.
