T Tauri Film Festival Seeks Entries to the 4th Annual Young Filmmakers Competition

• The "Kid With A Camera" ~ All films entered that are made by an indie youth filmmaker will be considered for the "Kid With A Camera" Award. You are an indie filmmaker if you made your movie with no assistance from a school or youth media organization.

• ArkanSTAR! ~ BEST ARKANSAS FILM!  All films entered in any category that are made by Arkansas filmmakers will be considered for the ArkanSTAR Award.

• NEW THIS YEAR     Young Movie Critic Award ~ Given to the writer of a film review or essay on a film related subject. Click here for details.

ENTRY GUIDELINES

• Movies must be received by April 1, 2008.

• Movies must be produced by youth in grades 7 through 12.

• Movies must have been produced in the past two years (between April 2006 and April 2008) and not previously submitted to the T Tauri Film Festival.

• Movies must be submitted in DVD format.

• Movies must be 30 minutes or less in length.

• There is no limit to the number of movies or writing submissions you may enter. Each movie submitted should be on a separate VHS or DVD to facilitate the judging process.

• A completed and signed Entry Form must be submitted for each movie entered. All entry forms will be kept confidential. Only the names and ages of the filmmakers will appear in the program and on the website, along with the name, year, length, and format of the movie and the filmmaker's description.

• Due to copyright laws, any music, images or text used in your movie must be original or, if copyrighted, you are responsible for obtaining written permission for music, images, and/or text used. Use of copyrighted material in works produced in an educational setting may be acceptable for entry to the festival under the Fair Use doctrine (section 107) of the U.S. copyright act.

• Movies depicting extreme violence, pornography, racism, sexism, or profanity will not be considered.

• The T Tauri Film Festival and Ozark Foothills FilmFest, Inc., their employees, volunteers, partners, or sponsors do not assume responsibility for any liabilities, costs, or injuries incurred in the production of your movie nor for any complaints, judgments, losses, expenses, or attorney's fees arising in connection with any and all claims based on material you are submitting to the T Tauri Film Festival.

NOTIFICATION

You will be notified by July 1, 2008 whether your movie has won a T Tauri award. You will be notified by June 15, 2008 if your movie is selected to be screened as an Official Selection at the T Tauri Film Festival. In 2007, about 40% of the movies entered were shown as Official Selections.

RETURN OF SUBMITTED MOVIES

Tapes and DVDs will be returned to you if a self-addressed return envelope with return postage is included with your submission. Tapes and DVDs of movies that will be shown at the festival will be kept by the T Tauri Film Festival for archival purposes and for possible inclusion in a "Best of T Tauri" touring program.

OPTION TO BE INCLUDED ON THE "BEST OF T TAURI" DVD

If you indicate on your Entry Form that your movie contains no copyrighted music, images, or text or that you have received permission to use any copyrighted music, images, or text that is used in your movie, you may choose to have your movie considered for our "Best of T Tauri 2008" DVD. The "Best of" DVD will be made available to youth filmmakers, teachers, parents, youth media organizations and festivals, schools, and libraries. Your movie will be seen by hundreds, maybe thousands, of people!

The DVD will be given as an appreciation gift for a small donation at T Tauri Film Festival screenings and touring program screenings and by mail. Contributions generated will be used to further the work of the T Tauri Film Festival and Movie Camp. If your work is included, you will receive no monetary compensation. You will receive 3 copies of the "Best of" DVD.

TO ENTER YOUR MOVIE

1. Read the Entry Guidelines carefully to confirm that you are eligible and understand the contest rules.

2. Open and print an entry form (one for each movie or writing submission entered):

3. Complete and sign either the Movie Entry Form or the Writing Submission Entry Form and ask your parent or guardian to sign at the bottom of the form.

4. Send a copy of your DVD or writing submission, with the completed and signed entry form, before April 1, 2008 to:
