Get the creative juices flowing this summer at these hands-on filmmaking workshops:

Script to Screen is a 3 1/2-day workshop open to students entering grades 6 through 12. The workshop covers the basics of narrative filmmaking including screenwriting and storyboarding, production planning, acting, shooting, sound recording, and editing. Participants are broken into 6 or 7 person teams based on their past training and experience--beginning and experienced filmmakers are welcome. You'll complete a short film that will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Click here for a complete description and registration information for the Script to Screen Workshop.

Community Documentary Filmmaking is a 5-day workshop open to students in grades 8 through 12. The workshop gives you the tools and skills you'll need to tell a personal, real-life story about some aspect of the local community. Your documentary team will select a subject for the film--this year the workshop takes place in downtown Batesville and will focus on some aspect of Batesville history. The resulting short film will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Click here for a complete description and registration information for the Community Documentary Filmmaking Workshop.

Squish and Squash: Experiments in Hand-Drawn Animation is a 2-day animation workshop open to students in grades 4 through 12. Squish and Squash will introduce you to early forms of animation before you begin your own experiments with hand-drawn animation techniques. When everybody's mastered the basics, you'll work together to bring a final group project to life. Your finished film will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Click here for a complete description and registration information for the Squish and Squash Animation Workshop.

NEW THIS YEAR!--

Poetry in Motion is a new beginner's videography workshop that combines filmmaking and poetry to create a video poem!  If you like poetry AND movies, think how much fun you'll have making a movie using the words of a poem. You and your filmmaking team will pick a poem (or write your own), then decide what moving images, sound, and music you'll use to communicate the meaning and feeling of the written words. Your video poem will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Click here for a complete description and registration information for the Poetry in Motion Workshop.

Final Cut Pro 100 introduces the concepts of nonlinear editing using the video editing software preferred by Indie filmmakers the world over. This two-day, hands-on course will introduce you to the primary feature set and basic interface of Final Cut Pro. You'll learn to perform basic editing functions while familiarizing yourself with the user interface. Topics include basic setup, adjusting and customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, finishing and final output. FCP100 is open to students up to 21 years of age, who have video editing experience and/or have participated in the T Tauri Movie Camp Script to Screen workshop. Click here for a complete description and registration information for the Final Cut Pro 100 Workshop.

The registration deadline for all workshops is July 10, 2010.
