Script to Screen is a
3 1/2-day
workshop open to students entering grades 6 through 12. The workshop covers the
basics of narrative filmmaking including script writing and storyboarding,
production planning, acting, shooting, sound recording, and editing. You'll complete a short film that will be shown at the
T Tauri Film Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 30,
2011. Click

NEW THIS YEAR!--
Acting on Camera is a new
workshop for kids with a passion for acting. The workshop helps
young actors translate their stage acting skills into the basic
building blocks to become adept at acting for the camera lens.
Through reading and performing scenes from existing scripts,
you'll learn how to interact with your fellow actors while always maintaining your own personal
relationship to the camera. A final ensemble scene showcasing
all workshop participants will be shown at the T Tauri Film
Festival Finale Screening on Saturday, July 30, 2011. Click here for a
complete description and
registration information for the Acting on Camera Workshop.
Claymation is a type of
stop-motion animation. In stop-motion animation, individual
still photographs are "strung together" using digital editing
software to create the illusion of movement in the finished
film. The only real movement, however, is done by the animator,
who positions and re-positions his or her clay figure, taking a
photo of each new position. You'll make your movable clay
creation figures using a wire skeleton, covered with moldable
clay. Writing dialogue for your clay creatures, creating scene
props and backgrounds, and adding narration, music, and credits
are all part of the process of creating a fun and lively
claymation movie that will be shown at the T Tauri Film Festival
Finale Screening on Saturday, July 30, 2011! Click for a complete
description and registration information for the Claymation
Workshop.
Flow
with the Pro: Final Cut Pro Editing
Workflow is a workshop
that focuses on the RIGHT way to use Final Cut Pro Editing
software. While it includes instruction in the software's basic
user interface and core operations, it is more concerned with
how a film editing project is planned and organized. Following
the old adage, "don't work harder, work smarter," the workshop
will save novice FCP users hours (no, make that weeks or months)
through the proper sequencing of steps and cataloging of video
footage, sound clips, still photos, and other elements in your
video production. Click here for a
complete
description and registration information for the Final Cut Pro
Editing Workflow Workshop.
The registration deadline for all workshops is
July 10, 2011.
